Why it matters

Globalization and automation have shaped and reshaped our world beyond recognition. Your students confront big choices about education, career choice, and living location. Understanding the forces of globalization and automation can inform and improve their decisions so that they can successfully navigate the economy of the future.

This is why the Eurasia Group Foundation (EGF) and Marginal Revolution University (MRU) have partnered to create an innovative week-long curriculum on the economics of globalization and how to apply that understanding to the important decisions students face. 100% free.

Globalization and automation are presented with familiar, real-world examples: The Avengers, smartphones, and photos. It’s chock-full of classroom activities, games, discussion prompts, research assignments, assessment questions, and includes three original videos.

EGF is committed to helping people make meaning out of the impact geopolitics has on their lives by empowering them to get involved in the issues that matter to them most. We inhabit an unusual space that includes the expertise of a think tank, the savvy understanding of social media, the relationships of a community educator and profound thought leader, and the inspiration of a civic activist. Broadening the debate, encouraging and informing new thought leaders, and expanding the perspective of those currently in power is the aim of our work.

Marginal Revolution University

MRU has the world’s largest online library of free economics education videos—currently weighing in at more than 900 videos, including full micro and macro courses. We’re moving the econ curriculum into the 21st century by combining engaging media (news articles, videos, data) with active learning resources and a community of passionate economics instructors. Have questions, comments, or classroom activities you’d like to share? We’d love to hear from you! Contact us at: support@mru.org
